In 1996, Mercedes introduced the ACTROS series in different variants. This vehicle is equipped with an M cab. This special point machine is a powerful, silent drive with its respective digital decoder for installation in Märklin and Trix C road bed points. The decoder is located in the cable making the drive particularly compact. The point machine stands out for the prototypical slow movement of the point blades. Speed and motion are controlled electronically and ensure a sensitive drive. If – due to the characteristics of your turnout – the direction of the turnout does not fit with the switching direction of the command station, it is possible to set the point motor to reverse mode. The associated decoder is suitable for DC/AC, MM and DCC and is able to send the requested position or the actual position by RailCom to corresponding digital command stations (e. g. Viessmann Commander item 5300/5320). Analogue mode is possible. Additional switching outputs for relays or LEDs and for a conventional feedback and frog polarisation complete the functions of the point machine. The self adhesive magnetic tape is polarized on its surface (south pole on top). It leads the guiding magnets of the CarMotion vehicles. Depending on the type of road, it is integrated into a prefabricated road system or built into the layout plate with the help of a surface milling machine. Dimensions: W 0.3 x H 0.1 cm.

The remote control facilitates the control of the CarMotion vehicles on the layout as well as a simple configuration of the vehicle. For this purpose the remote control is directed towards the front part of the vehicle where its infrared sensors are located. Distances larger than 50 cm require a very precise alignment of the remote control with the vehicle. Under favourable conditions a distance of up to 1 m is possible. The device is designed for a local control of the vehicles – driving on sight, so to speak. It can be used to start a vehicle – even from an active stop coil – and to stop it at any time. Furthermore, it is possible to set the vehicle speed and other vehicle functions such as lighting, blinking lights etc. For these basic configurations, it is not necessary to connect the vehicle to the programming device. Moreover, the remote control complements the vehicle control via the magnet arrangement underneath the roadway – thus the user can carry out complex operations and has further options to intervene.

The receiver coil enhances vehicles with inductive charging capabilities and necessary communication. It effortlessly clips onto the transmission block and is connected to the vehicle board through a two-pole plug connection. When used in conjunction with the InduktivCharger, item 8408, it enables unlimited runtime without user intervention. Vehicles can be powered on and off at inductive charging stations. The runtime-to-charging-time ratio is approximately 3:1, depending on system and vehicle conditions.
