The patented flat drive unit, similar to the one used in the ROBEL, is a perfect fit for the flat construction of this waggon. Between 1958 and 1967 the DB purchased more than 14 200 2-axle platform waggons with tiltable side and end boards. They serve for transporting vehicles and large volume freight. These couplers base on the Fleischmann Profi plug-in coupling 6515 and provide power transmission up to 1 A each contact. They are also vertically self-centering, which effectively prevents unintended uncoupling (e. g. at the transition from horizontal track to a gradient). Uncoupling – even delayed uncoupling – is possible. This allows you to provide an easy power supply system for the entire train. As a result, pick-ups are not required for all coaches. This in turn reduces the load to be drawn by the locomotive. The couplers are equipped completely with 2 connection cables and fit into the standard NEM 362-coupling shaft. The thin cables (0,6 mm) allow a very easy mounting.
