Various free PC programs extend the capabilities of the Commander. Download the programs and use the options for backing up data or importing your own locomotive images.
Commander Manager
With the Commander Manager, it is now possible to save backups of individual data records from the Commander on your PC. The selection is confirmed by clicking on a data record. However, it is always advisable to make a complete backup, which usually takes less than a minute by deactivating the locomotive image transfer.
In the Routes tab, you can print out specific routes. This is done simply by clicking on them.

BackUp-Program

With the Commander BackUp you can back up the Commander data on the PC and, if necessary, import it from the PC back into the Commander. The program requires Commander software version 1.042 or higher.

Locomotive image editor

The locomotive picture editor allows you to convert and transfer your own locomotive pictures from PC to Commander. The program requires Commander software version 1.02 or higher.

Memory cleaner (for Commander software version 1.070)

The Viessmann Commander MemoryCleaner is a software program that repairs faulty data records in the Commander. The program requires Commander software version 1.070. From version 1.1, the memory cleaner is already integrated in the Commander.

USB Driver
USB-Driver
Please install this driver if you want to use the Commander together with the PC utility programs.
If you are using an operating system such as Windows XP or older, you must install the driver manually.
Download the driver from the webpage and note where this driver is stored on your PC.
Once you have downloaded the driver, simply double-click on the file to start the installation.
Follow any instructions that may appear during the installation, but the installation usually takes place without any action on your part.
If you are asked by the operating system whether you really want to install this driver, please confirm.
To install the update, please disconnect the Commander from your PC. After the successful update, you can reconnect the Commander and you may receive a message that new hardware has been found when you switch on the Commander. This is a feature of the new driver.
The installation is now complete.
Note for users of operating systems from Windows Vista onwards: You can also install this driver as described above, or you can let the operating system search for the latest driver automatically.
