Thanks for the suggestion, I think I found the solution on the ESU forum. I have two 5233 decoders, and the solution was to add a third decoder on the ECoS configuration screen. So in the software there are 3 decoders, but only the first 2 are used.

I have a Marklin C track layout that is divided into 16 sections with two 5233 feedback decoders. I am running the layout with an ECoS 50200. The 5233 decoders seem to work fine if I only have one connected at a time. Each one has 8 sections, and they display feedback properly.
When I connect both decoders together, however, several of the sections flash on and off. Sometimes they show a section as occupied, and sometimes not.
All sections of my layout are monitored by the decoders. I have tried swapping the order of the decoders. I also tried a different ribbon cable between the two decoder boxes, but it always has the same result.
I would appreciate any suggestions you have have.
