    Dear colleagues

I wanted to let you know that the replacement Viessmann Booster has arrived safely from Modellbahnshoppe-Lippe and I am delighted to say that it is working perfectly :D
I had no problems at all in connecting it with my Commander, as per the Viessmann 5301 product manual.

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hi Dieter

Mr Meier has advised to return the Booster ... I've posted it back to Modellbahnshoppe-Lippe who have provided good service. They will send another Booster to me.

    Thanks for your responses.

    I don't know what is worse ... 40 Celsius or O Celsius :o

    Best wishes
    Paul

    Hello Dieter

    Thank you for your reply.

I have checked again ... my booster is not showing in any position on the IN/OUTPUT DEV Editor menu. I have unplugged and reconnected the LSB cable and tried switching the dip switch "1" on and off as the Booster manual says, but the Commander is not registering the Booster.

I don't know where to go from here :(

    Thank you again
    Paul

PS: how is the weather there? It is 40C here right now!!!!

    Hello Mr Meier

Many thanks for your helpful response and the files you sent via email.

Two things: Windows7 would not let me open the Commander Manager 1.4 .exe file, stating that it “was potentially harmful” to my computer and “has blocked access”. So, I opened Commander Manager 1.3 which works fine.

The problem is: my Commander is NOT showing the Booster in the IN/OUTPUT DEV Editor ... even re-plugging the LSB cable, the Booster does not show in the list of devices (and the power is on to the Booster). So I can't use the Booster update file you sent.

    I've sent you an email.

    Kind regards

    Paul

    Good evening colleagues

Today I attempted to connect the Booster I have just received from a German retailer to my Commander, following the printed instructions.

Initially the third green LED was flashing, which the manual tells me indicates that "the Booster is in the update mode". This light then went out, and no other lights have shown on the panel.
I have checked all connections (several times) ... I have checked the power supply - the power supply is working.

Now the Commander is NOT ACKNOWLEDGING the connection of the Booster via the LSB. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the LSB cable, and toggling Dip Switch 1 on and off (as per the manual, page 11), but there seems to be no communication between Commander and booster. As I have said, there are NO lights showing on the Booster front panel.

A Roco handset plugged into the other LSB port of the Booster IS WORKING (ie, communicating back to the Commander).

I installed the latest Commander update earlier this month without problem.

I'd be very appreciative if someone can help me to get my Booster working.

Sorry to write only in English ... you wouldn't understand my attempt to speak the German language :)

    Kind regards from South Australia

    Dear colleagues

I about to receive the Booster for my Commander in the post!

I have read the manual and understand that this is connected using the "CDE" plugs (as well as the optional LSB connection).

My question is: what GAUGE / SIZE wire should be used to make this connection with the "CDE" sockets?

Logic suggests that this wire would be the same size as used for the output to the track? I'd be grateful for any advice here.

    Regards
    Paul

    Hello colleagues

First off I'd like to say I'm delighted with the initiative of having this new part of the Forum for English speakers - WELL DONE to the Viessmann team. In the past it has sometimes been difficult to explore the capabilities of the Commander and install some other Viessmann products when there are no other local owners to discuss issues face-to-face. In the past I've benefited from the input on the Forum of the few English language-posters here such as John Ferguson (thanks John).

    Now my questions:

I have installed the Crossing Barrier 5100 and have been using the decoder 5212 to operate it from my Commander - this works well, though while the crossing barriers RISE at a protypically slow speed, this is not the case when they LOWER ... which is too fast!! Can this be adjusted? (I don't want to scare my car drivers and pedestrians :-).

I've recently bought the sound module Bahnubergang 5556 and have installed it as per the Supplementary Manual 5556, page 2, ie, using the switch 5550 - this works well.

Now I would like to operate 5100 and 5556 via the decoder 5212 ... but I can't figure out how to wire this. I note there is a spare pair of RED wires from each motor of the crossing and the 5100 manual says these can be used as contacts for the Andreaskreuze (blinking lights) ... can these be wired to activate the sound module? I'd be very pleased if the Viessmann Team or another user can give me some guidance here as I'd like to activate the barriers with sound from my Commander.

    Thank you again.
Kind regards from sunny South Australia
    Paul
